Garden Waste and Cardboard Collections to Re-Start

Garden bin and cardboard collections are returning to their usual fortnightly cycle later this month.

As of the week commencing Monday 28 September, all residents should go back to using their normal collection calendar which was in use pre-Covid-19. You can also use the postcode finder option on the NWLDC website to check your collection dates at www.nwleics.gov.uk/collections

Re-opening of the Playground and Gym Equipment

The trustees of the recreation ground have carried out a risk assessment on the re-opening of play areas and outdoor play and sports equipment.

They are pleased to report that the playground can now re-open, as long as guidelines are followed.

Parish Council Meetings cancelled

Unfortunately, the decision has had to be taken to cancel Parish Council meetings for at least the next 3 months.

Packington Christmas Craft Fair and Christmas Lights

There will be a Christmas Craft Fair at the Memorial Hall from 1pm on Sunday 1st December followed by the Christmas Lights switch on with carols at 6pm.

In September, the Leicestershire County Council Speed Watch team carried out an exercise in Packington on three of our roads.

The results of the exercise are attached. As a result of the survey, they say that average speeds through the village are not high enough to warrant further action, such as the speed cameras the parish council have asked for.
