In September, the Leicestershire County Council Speed Watch team carried out an exercise in Packington on three of our roads.

The results of the exercise are attached. As a result of the survey, they say that average speeds through the village are not high enough to warrant further action, such as the speed cameras the parish council have asked for.

We have also been in touch with the local police who say that there has been only one reported incident of traffic related injury in the last 5 years and this was not speed related, so Packington is not noted as a speeding or accident hotspot for their speed van to attend. More »

The parish council are aware of local concerns about traffic and speeding and we will continue to pursue this matter with County Hall and the local police. » Less
